The Folklore Celebration for tourists "Novgorod Koupalye"

Koupalye is the celebration of the summer solstice, magical rites and sacraments – it is liked by all generations. The event programme features the rite of "the fulfillment of desires", folk games, dances, ritual praise of married couples, riding soims on the lake Ilmen, midsummer (koupalye) porridge, Novgorod ukha (fish soup), the ritual procession called "arrow", lighting Koupalye bonfire, ring dances, the rites of purification by water and fire.

Novgorod Koupalye is organized by the artists of folk theater "Kudesy" that for over 20 years collects and cherishes the traditions and customs of Novgorod land.
